Discipline

Discipline · General

Discipline is simply keeping a promise to a version of you who cannot speak yet.

Tonight you decide whether tomorrow morning is calm or frantic. The clothes, the dishes, the alarm, the bag by the door. You are either serving that person or sabotaging them.

It reframes the whole thing. This is not self-denial or punishment. It is a relationship with someone specific: you, next week, either tired and grateful or tired and resentful.

Ask what your Thursday self will need from your Wednesday self, then provide it before you feel like it. Small, unglamorous, and enormously effective across a year.

Treat your future self like someone you love, because you will become them.

Action

Do one thing tonight that makes tomorrow morning easier: clothes, dishes, or a written list.
