Hope · Faith
Hope is not a feeling; it is a decision you make repeatedly in the dark.
Some seasons do not respond to positive thinking. The job does not come. The treatment does not work yet. The marriage is quiet in a way that has begun to frighten you.
The Psalms are full of people who complained bitterly to God and stayed. Lament is not the opposite of faith; it is faith speaking honestly and refusing to leave the room.
You do not need to feel hopeful this morning. You need to do the next honest thing in front of you, and still be here tomorrow when the light changes.
Morning has never once failed to come, however long the night argued otherwise.
Action
Write one honest complaint today, addressed to God, and do not tidy the language.
