Margin is the difference between a full life and a frantic one.

Lagos teaches this if you let it. The meeting is at ten, the drive is ninety minutes, and you leave at 8:30, then spend the trip furious at traffic that was always going to be there.

Margin is not wasted time. It is the space where you think clearly, greet someone properly, and where an emergency stays an emergency instead of becoming a catastrophe.

Build it deliberately: thirty minutes between meetings, one free evening each week, one week a quarter with nothing booked. Nobody will hand you this space; you have to defend it.

A schedule with no gaps has no room left for the life you actually wanted.

Action

Add a thirty-minute gap after your longest meeting today and refuse to fill it.
