Courage

Courage · Career

The thought you swallow in the meeting is usually the one the room needed.

You rehearse it, the moment passes, someone else says a weaker version and it gets adopted. The idea was fine. The timing was yours and you let it go.

Silence feels like safety, but it is expensive. Rooms build their picture of you from what you say. Say nothing for long enough and they conclude you have nothing.

Start smaller than feels satisfying. One sentence. A question with a point inside it. Courage in professional rooms is almost always a muscle, never a personality type.

Speak while the moment is still yours to take.
